5 Senses Daycare & Preschool

I have over five years of experience teaching early childhood education. In addition, I worked as a school nurse in the Santa Clara Unified District, where I focused on the health and safety of elementary school children, providing medical attention whenever necessary. My teaching philosophy is centered around a whole child approach, emphasizing the importance of addressing mental, physical, and emotional health to foster well-rounded development in each child.

Our Daily Schedule

Daily Schedule/Lesson plan applies to Children Ages 2-5 years old – Modifications for each age group are mainly as follows, and outlined throughout the curriculum:


Ages 2-3 include activities on their shelves (or in a separate room) more focused on Practical Life jobs, with large focus on tactile senses, as well as in the lessons given.



Ages 3-5 include more advanced activities on their shelves (or in a separate room) more focused on early Language development and introduction to STEM subject concepts, using the 3-period lesson, along with use of activities such as the golden beads, pink tower, sandpaper letters and the complement of Idea Paint™ practice.

  • A.M.

    • 8:00-9:00 am - Students arrive  (reading/art areas open and familiar activity use)
    • 9:00-9:30 am – Morning circle (Students gather, pledge of allegiance, sharing items)
    • 9:30-10:00 am – main group and small group lessons (STEM focus 3-5yrs group)
    • 10:00-10:30 am – independent activities/work period
    • 10:30-11:00 am – 15 min recess and 15 min outdoor gardening, nature exploration
    • 11:00am-12:00 pm – independent activities/work period

  • P.M.

    • 12:00-12:30 pm – Lunch
    • 12:30-1:00 pm – clean dishes and recess outdoors
    • 1:00-2:00 pm – Nap Time (Set up Cots and Listen to Classical music/Nature sounds)
    • 2:00-2:30pm – main group and small group lessons (Language, Cultural activities)
    • 2:30-3:00pm – independent activities/work time (Use of Idea Paint™ 3-5yrs group)
    • 3:00-3:30pm – Art, Music, Spanish, Physical Education specialists
    • 3:30-4:00 pm – Recess, Student pick-up (unless staying for after-school program)

  • After School Program

    • 4:00-4:30 pm – school activity continuation/ simple homework model 
    • 4:30-5:30pm – board games, coloring, drawing
    • 5:45-6:00 pm – Clean up and Student pick-up
